Pascal has served as CEO of AstraZeneca since 2012. He brings a passion for science and medicine as well as significant experience in established and emerging markets, strength of strategic thinking, a successful track record of managing change and executing strategy, and the ability to lead a diverse organisation.
Pascal previously served as COO of Roche’s pharmaceuticals division and prior to that was CEO of Genentech, where he led its successful merger with Roche.
He is a doctor of veterinary medicine and holds an MBA from HEC, Paris.
Pascal received a British knighthood for services to UK life sciences and leadership in the global response to the COVID pandemic in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2022.
Pascal is on the Board of Sustainable Markets Initiative and is Chair of the Sustainable Markets Initiative Health Systems Task Force.
