At this pivotal juncture in our common human history we look forward to welcoming you to the inaugural COP Business & Philanthropy Climate Forum. As global leaders in business, philanthropy and government, you are uniquely positioned to drive positive climate action for Nature, People and Planet.
Highlighting the crucial importance given to this three-day Forum, it will open with a royal reception in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and His Majesty King Charles III, at 6:00pm on 30 November.
The Forum will be an opportunity to:
- Connect and engage with fellow leaders on the key actions required to navigate the climate transition
- Learn through the exchange of ideas, and sharing of lessons with peers from across geographies and across industries, and
- Collaborate with other leaders and expand your network for long-term impact
The Business & Philanthropy Climate Forum will serve as the official launch event of COP28, both of which are being held at the Expo City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from 30 November through 12 December 2023. Given its position as a global hub for logistics, transportation, and green technology, as well as being an engine of growth for business, commerce and tourism, the United Arab Emirates is uniquely positioned to build the bridges and foster the consensus needed to accelerate inclusive climate progress.

The Business & Philanthropy Climate Forum is COP28’s private sector engagement platform to engage CEOs and philanthropists from around the world alongside Heads of State/Government through a two-day program focused on accelerating delivery and results for Nature, People and Planet.Â

Methane Fund: Join a newly created methane fund (as GP, LP, partner.) to help abate 5% of GHG emissions from the O&G industry by 2030
COP28 Coal: Purchase transition credits to accelerate the early retirement of unabated coal-fired power plants, currently responsible for 27% of global energy and industrial emissions

Voluntary Carbon Markets: Commit to purchasing high-integrity carbon credits to help scale high-integrity Voluntary Carbon Markets, which are needed to address 40% of emissions by 2030
