Dr. Ana Gonzalez Pelaez, Fellow, University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
Ana leads a multi-disciplinary initiative to place risk-sharing systems at the centre of Loss and Damage and scale up protection for the Global South using international risk capital markets.
For over a decade, Ana has pioneered work bringing together financial regulators, climate policymakers, science and industry to apply risk-sharing systems for the Sustainable Development Goals and the Climate Agenda. This mission is inspired by her collaboration with local communities devastated by Typhoon Haiyan, evaluating the impact of pre-arranged finance.
Ana’s wider work extends across international trade law, governance and food security. She has advised on trade development in the Middle East and worked for Bloomberg as an editor, producer and news anchor.
